The sudden change in her Master's behaviour isn't right, and that smile before he leaves actually makes her back away from him. She stays against the wall for longer than she feels proud about, and when she finally moves again it is to run to the bedroom and grab her phone.
On the street outside she can see no sign of the Desert God and she curses loudly, frustrated and (yes) frightened. Despite not having any idea what direction he went in, Cara starts running in the hopes of catching him. Already she is dialing his number and when it hits his voicemail she stops in the middle of the street, looking around herself. Her voice is sure and strong, the desperation tinting her tone but also making her brave and demanding. "Set, you are not him. Don't let him win, okay? You're better than this! Stronger than this! You're not- just- I will find you." Were she not talking to a God who could crush her with barely a thought it would have been very convincing. "I will find you and I will show you that you're Set and you're not Apep. I'm going to find you."
She hangs up and presses a shaking hand against her face, feeling like she's going to cry. Standing there on a busy Manhattan sidewalk, she realises for the first time that not only does she love Set as her Lord and Master, but that she is truly and completely in love with him as well. Which only serves to make her feel even worse.
Walking again she makes another call, this time to Osiris' number, yelling at the phone in her hand when that too goes to the message service and not a real person (or, in this case, a real God). "It's Cara." She already sounds a lot less sure of herself than in the call to Set just moments ago. "I think it's happening. I think he's-" The young woman takes an unsteady breath. "He left the apartment not long ago and I'm looking for him now. He changed. Something changed. I'm going to find him though."
She hangs up and thrusts the phone deep into her pocket, moving to a jog once more to keep searching.
